Have your say: Shape Tasmania’s 20-Year Preventive Health Strategy

The Tasmanian Minister for Health has recently launched a Discussion Paper inviting all Tasmanians to contribute to the development of a new 20-Year Preventive Health Strategy.

This is your chance to help create a healthier Tasmania by telling the Tasmanian Government how to improve the systems that affect health and support people in adopting healthier behaviours.

To learn more about this approach, visit the Tasmanian Department of Health website at www.health.tas.gov.au/20-year-preventive-health-strategy.

Why your feedback matters:

Over 70% of health outcomes are influenced by factors beyond healthcare alone. These factors include the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age.

To transform Tasmania’s health outcomes, The Government needs to address the root causes of health issues and look at the systems that affect health. This includes not just the health system, but areas like employment, education, transport, poverty, early childhood experiences, housing, planning, food security, and social inclusion.

To make this strategy as effective as possible, The Government needs your input and wants to hear from all Tasmanians – whether you’re from a government agency, health and community sector organisation, a subject matter expert or member of the Tasmanian community.

Your feedback will inform the development of both the strategy and its action plans.
