Associate Member Eligibility

You must satisfy one of the following combinations.

Completed a postgraduate degree in Rehabilitation Counselling

(but hold an unrelated undergraduate degree) including:

ASORC accredited postgraduate degrees

La Trobe University
  • Master of Rehabilitation Counselling and Mental Health
  • Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation

Non-ASORC accredited postgraduate degrees

University of Tasmania
  • Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Counselling 
Griffith University
  • Master of Rehabilitation Counselling
University of Sydney
  • Master of Rehabilitation Counselling
  • Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Counselling

2. Completed both an undergraduate (Bachelor) and postgraduate degree in Psychology or Behavioural Sciences:

You must have completed one of each of the below:

Postgraduate degree in Psychology or Behavioural Sciences*

  • Master of Psychology 
  • Master of Psychological Sciences
  • Master of Professional Psychology
  • Graduate Diploma in Psychology
  • Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science
AND / OR

4th year/Honours degree accredited by the  Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)

Undergraduate (Bachelor) degree in Psychology or Behavioural Sciences*

  • Bachelor of Behavioural Science
  • Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology)
  • Bachelor of Psychology
  • Bachelor of Psychological Science
  • Bachelor of Psychological Science and Counselling
  • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)
  • Bachelor of Science (Psychology)

Some social sciences and health sciences qualifications may be considered

3. Completed an undergraduate (Bachelor) degree with a major in Rehabilitation Counselling

La Trobe University

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Rehabilitation Counselling)

University of Sydney

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Rehabilitation Counselling)


4. Completed an undergraduate (Bachelor) in Psychology (4th year/Honours) degree

Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) accredited by the  Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)

 

These qualifications do not automatically qualify for membership. Each qualification is individually assessed by the ASORC Sub-Membership Committee upon application. 

Please note that there may be other University courses that have been discontinued; are no longer accredited by ASORC; have changed name that may qualify a person for membership.
