What is this webinar about?
The presentation aims to provide early career and new graduate Rehabilitation Counsellors with an understanding of the role of the Rehabilitation Counsellor in the workplace rehabilitation and workers compensation market. Participants will be provided with techniques, strategies and tips to set them up for success when working with clients within a worker’s compensation framework.
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
Demonstrate improved confidence when speaking with other professionals involved in their client’s care, such as treating doctors, specialists and other allied health practitioners
List the information that should be gathered during an initial needs assessment with a new client
Explain the importance of obtaining informed consent from clients and the process involved in this

The Speaker
Alexa Locke - National Operations Manager - Recovery and Return to Work, Resilia
Alexa has worked in the occupational rehabilitation and employment services industries since 2008 in various roles including employer return to work coordinator, insurance injury management advisor, and rehabilitation consultant. She has experience working across Worker’s Insurance, CTP, NDIS, Lifetime Care and Support, Comcare, Disability Employment Services, and Life Insurance schemes. Since 2014, she has worked in management roles in the occupational rehabilitation and employment services sector leading teams of allied health consultants working across compensable and non-compensable schemes.
Alexa has expertise in working with individuals with mental health conditions and acquired brain injury. She has been involved in the community of practice for the Vocational Intervention Program, a specialised employment services program for people with traumatic brain injury in NSW delivered in partnership between vocational rehab providers and NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (BIRP) teams since 2018.
Alexa is currently the National Operations Manager (Recovery and Return to Work Services) for Resilia and is proud to have trained and mentored numerous student and new graduate Rehabilitation Counsellors throughout her career.
