What is this webinar about?

Due to treatment advancement, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. The speed of discovery is accelerating at a rapid rate and survival outcomes will only improve once advanced genomic and immunological treatments are developed.

Despite the advances made in treatment, approaches to supporting cancer survivors to integrate into life and work have not fundamentally changed, with up to 38% of Australian cancer survivors never returning to work following treatment.

Simonie Fox is the Group Strategy Manager for Rehabilitation and Claims at AIA Australia. She has over 20 years experience in the rehabilitation industry and now specialises in the area of supporting cancer survivors.

The webinar content will include:

  • The current data on cancer survivorship in Australia
  • How different types of cancer impact rehabilitation
  • The unique challenges faced in returning to life and work for people with cancer
  • Support services and assistive technology available
  • Educating employers to support individuals with cancer
  • Evidence-based approaches to tailoring a program to support cancer survivors
  • There will also be an opportunity to have your questions answered at the end of the presentation.
